Until October 31, 2019, bank customers will still be able to provide both a valid account number plus bank code or an IBAN account number in the details of the settlement documents. If the IBAN Payer / Payee Account Number is filled in, the Payer / Payee Bank Details will be zero.

But starting from November 1, 2019, the use of IBAN will become obligatory for clients of all banks of Ukraine when making money transfers in both national and foreign currency. That is, all transfers from November 1, 2019 will only be done by using IBAN.

It should be noted that many organizations, including the European Business Association, have already responded positively to the introduction of IBAN in Ukraine, as this will allow to unify the process of opening and identifying accounts of banks with European standards. In addition, one of the benefits will be the reduction of account details and the avoidance of calculation errors.
