Congratulations on the Day of Human Rights!

"Ty i Pravo" Lenivskyi group sincerely congratulates on the International Day of Human Rights, which is celebrated today, December 10, worldwide.

This holiday was founded in 1950 by the General Assembly. Two years earlier, the Organisation of the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was the first international document, in which human rights were clearly defined.

It enshrined the following principles: equality of people; everyone's right to life, liberty and security of person; prohibition of slavery and the slave trade; prohibition of torture or ill-treatment; everyone's right to personality; equality before the law; the right to go to court; prohibition of illegal arrests; the presumption of innocence and the prohibition of retroactive criminal law; the right to freedom of movement and choice of residence; the right to a nationality; the right to freedom of opinion; the right to work and so on.

While there are multiplying conflicts, humanitarian needs are increasing and language of hatred is widely used, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights reminds us that recognition of "equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace" - the UN Secretary General said in his message on the occasion.

The establishment and enforcement of human rights is an important issue of the modern world. This is a concern not only of a particular state, but the whole international community. Human rights have no borders.

On this Day, we certainly join this initiative and wish to everyone awareness of his rights and respect to the rights of other persons.
