How to get information from the Ministry of Justice?

The Procedure for drawing up and submitting requests for public information managed by the Ministry of Justice or its territorial bodies has been updated.

The updated procedure and form of the request were approved by the order of the Ministry of Justice of June 26, 2020 № 2209/5.

Who can request and what can be requested?

Any person, legal entity and association of citizens without the status of a legal entity (except for subjects of power in the exercise of their functions) may send to the Ministry of Justice, its territorial bodies a request for public information, regardless of whether this information his personally or not, without explaining the reason for the request.

How to submit a request?

You can submit a request orally or in writing during a personal reception or by mail, fax, e-mail or telephone.

What are the requirements for the request?

The request for public information must contain:

  • name, (name) of the requester, postal address, e-mail, number of means of communication;
  • a general description of the information or the type, title, details or content of the requested document, if the requester is aware of it;
  • signature and date subject to a written request.

Please note that you can fill out a special form on the website of the Ministry of Justice to form a request.

How to get the requested information?

You can choose the form of response: by mail, by fax, by e-mail.

It is also provided that the first sheet of the copy of the request is stamped with the name of the information manager, the date of receipt and the incoming number of the request. Such a copy must be returned to the requester.
